President, Business Development at Patton Group, Preeyam spearheads the Plastics Division, focussing on product development, and has expanded the EMT Steel Fittings Exports business into new territories such as Middle East & North Africa (MENA). She is also the driving force behind building the traditional family business’ digital presence.
The gen-next of PATTON Group, Preeyam joined the family business upon her return from the UK, where she spent her educational & professional formative years. She graduated in Management from the University of Nottingham and studied Executive Management & Entrepreneurship at the London School of Economics & Political Sciences. She has also worked at illustrious institutions like Barclays Capital and Lehman Brothers, London, UK.
An intrapreneur with an entrepreneurial spirit, she is a passionate champion of sustainability & green initiatives. As Head – New Projects Division, she launched a Sustainability Vertical at Patton called ‘Embracing Green’ which focuses on Water Conservation & Renewable Energy initiatives such as:
• Rainwater Harvesting & Ground Water Recharging
• Water-on-Wheels (Roller Tanks)
• Solar Rooftop Projects at Patton plants
Winner of the Aparajita Award (Young Entrepreneur) in 2016, Preeyam has grown from an ecologically aware individual to that of a green ambassador making an active, lasting, positive difference. She is implementing grass-root solutions in the city and the outskirts, spreading awareness via talks, panel discussions & multimedia outreach solutions, and building a sustainable future. In West Bengal she has been proactively addressing water woes via 52 Rainwater Harvesting Projects across Darjeeling, Purulia, Bardhaman, the Sunderbans, and Kolkata. Introducing ‘Water-On-Wheels’ in different parts of West Bengal has helped the rural community immensely.
Her newest project is the Contactless Safe Wash Station – a safety initiative by Patton to combat Covid-19. Hands-free and foot-operated, this innovative and efficient handwashing solution is making an impact every single day.
A member of the ICC Executive Committee, the CII National Committee on Renewable Energy, the CII Eastern Region Healthcare Committee, and the CII (IWN) Core Committee, Preeyam is also the founding member of YPO Gen Next.
A fitness enthusiast, swimmer, and badminton player, she is someone who never misses work or a workout. A firm believer in the fitness of both the mind and the body, she is a director of the AddLife Gym and Head, New Initiatives at Caring Minds (A Super-Specialty Psychological Wellness Facility). Fond of board games and karaoke, she’s made sure they’re an integral part of Café ICanFlyy – a café run by special needs individuals that she co-founded with her mother, psychotherapist Minu Budhia.
Travelling far and often, and often solo is one of Preeyam’s favourite ways to add a breath of fresh air to her every day routine. A different city or different continent, work or vacation, mountains or beaches, travel is a constant in her life.
